Season 2014

Calling all Anziks from across the Globe.

 

First of all I would like to say that it's going to be a very strange feeling this season when we take the ground without the presence of Jarod Harris and I know that we will all do our best to have a great season in honouring his memory as a great bloke and a true sportsmen, who was the heart and soul of the Anziks.

It is with great pride and honour that we don on the Black and Gold for the first game this season to mark the new season and to pay respect to the man we all loved and revered.

 

God Bless~ The 2014 season is upon us and I just got word that our first game of the season is at 11am on Sunday the 13th at Inchon University. Please be there by 10am for the first game of the season. A lot of our games will be played in Incheon this year, so you Incheon fellas have no excuse for being late. I am pumped and ready to do some damage against our worthy Sri Lankan opponents and I like the way the team is shaping up this season with some promising new NZ talent in the way of Brendon, who looked solid as both a top order batsmen and leg spinner.

Great enthusiasm as always from Gio and great to see Matty Hobden's all rounded goodness, not to be misconstrued.

 

Also a shout out to Roger who received his trophy for best bowler of 2013 even though he was technically 4 months late for the awards ceremony..lol Sorry mate just had to throw that one out there. Interesting to note that the National team has been transformed over the Korean winter, into an almost unrecognisably competitive team that has won every game against the KCA teams since arriving back to the ROK. Admittedly none of those teams have played since last September, but let's give credit where credit is due and be the first team to bring them back to sobering reality with a few bouncers from Rog and some cunning spin attack from Gio and Brendon.

 

I've asked Shane (JB) to join us for the first game and hopefully he's keen to have a run and then we have a guest appearance from the thunder from down under, Daami Cagney, in May. Hopefully we can organise 2 matches there, one against the National Team and a regular KCA team. Also I'd like to thank Robin Barrimore, the Lobster, for leaving us his set of pads for the new season. You're a fuckin champion. Subrata misses you dearly and has replaced his Indian boy photos with a picture of you enshrined on his galaxy profile pic. The ring tone is something by Ricky Martin I believe.

 

Lets tear it up Anziks!! I'm super keen for a game and some sunshine with a great bunch of blokes that call emselves the Anziks. Let's get off to a flyer and please get back to me ASAP in regards to those who can don on the Black and Gold.
